The Easy Care™ Algatec® product is an easy way to rid your pool of green, yellow, and black algae. It will effectively kill green and yellow algae in 4 to 24 hours, and black algae in about 7 to 10 days. This formula does not stain, foam or lose chlorine when added to the pool. Use this product regularly if you want your pool to maintain a sparkling clear appearance.

Algae Cleanup - All Pools:

1. To start, pools containing heavy algae growth should be cleaned of excess debris. This product must be used with a register sanitizer.
2. Super-chlorinating pool water and adjusting water pH will help improve cleanup.
3. Operate pool filter pump during the entire cleanup period which is typically 4 to 24 hours.

Green Algae:

1. Add Algatec® "% visible dosage" - use higher dosage for heavier algae growths.
2. It is important to brush algae clinging to the pool walls and surfaces.
3. After cleanup period, re-test pool water and balance chlorine and pH if needed.
4. Clean filter unit and/or backwash as required.
5. Add Algatec® weekly to help prevent the regrowth of algae.

Yellow or Mustard Algae:

1. Add Algatec® "% visible dosage" - use higher dosage for heavier algae growths.
2. It is important to brush all yellow algae clinging to the pool walls and surfaces.
3. Add a shock level of chlorine (liquid or dry) to assist in the cleanup process. Follow manufacturers instructions. Adjust water to pH to insure proper effectiveness of chlorine.
4. After cleanup period, retest pool water and balance chlorine and pH as needed.
5. Clean filter unit and/or backwash as required.
6. Add Algatec® weekly to help prevent the re-growth of algae.

Black Algae:

1. Add Algatec® "% visible dosage" - use MAXIMUM dosage.
2. Use a combo or wire brush and frequently scrub growth for 7 to 10 days until growths are eradicated.
3. Broadcast granular chlorine over affected areas to help penetrate and kill growth. Use a type of chlorine that is safe for your pool finish. In addition, super-chlorination of pool water will also help further improve the cleanup.
4. During cleanup period, check and test pool water frequently. Balance chlorine and pH as needed to maintain adequate chlorination.
5. Clean filter unit and/or backwash as required.
6. Operate pool filter pump at least to 6 -8 hours during cleanup.
7. Add Algatec® weekly to ensure eradication of black algae and fungus.
